A Modern & Simple California Outdoor Friendsgiving

By November 15, 2017 No Comments

One of the best things about living in California is the fact that we get to be outside all year round. Including the special days like Thanksgiving and Christmas! Often times you can find us barbecuing on these holidays! Each year my friends and I like to get together and have a Friendsgiving, it’s such a great kick off to the holiday season. This year we took advantage of the great weather and my friend Kevy’s newly renovated backyard! It was the perfect setting to gather us all and enjoy some delicious food and drinks.

This dinner is also featured on Style Me Pretty Living today!

Miss Multee created the gorgeous invite, her hand writing is beyond beautiful and set the tone for the evening perfectly.

The night started with the cheese board of all cheese boards from Colette’s Catering.  That is a great way to start a party if you ask me!  One Hope wine helped us pair each course with the perfect wine as well.  Wine and cheese, that makes everyone happy!

For the details we turned to Olive & Blooms for florals and again Miss Multee for menus and place cards. We used the colors of the tabletop and added in some deep berries and copper to finish it off. The beautiful florals lined the table and really brought a fall feel to the event, with a fresh and modern take. And everybody kept talking about the beautiful hand written menus, they were an ombre gold to copper that perfectly shined all night.

All of the pretty pillows and cozy blankets are from The Garage Collective, a local shop in Laguna Beach.  They have an amazing collection of home goods that I want through-out my entire house!

One of the things we don’t like about these get togethers is the clean up. I came across L’Entramise, a beautiful disposable line that was perfect for our table setting. Their pieces have a sleek and pretty look and are so well crafted. The best part was at the end of the night we could just toss everything away and not worry about the dishes!

Now, let’s party!!!  Pop some bottles!!

Love these girls!!  Friend time doesn’t happen nearly as much as I wish it did, but when it does it’s always fun!

Our friends at Colette’s Catering designed a menu with a modern take on Thanksgiving dinner. We had a delicious salad, roasted veggies and squab instead of turkey. They also put together a delicious dessert that had us all happy at the end of the. night.

Each year at this time I get a bit sentimental, it means another year is coming to an end. But ending it with great friends is always a good idea, and that’s why Friendsgiving is so special.

Cheers!!

Hope you’re enjoying the holidays with your friends as well!

xx,

Jacquelyn
