A Tropical New Years Eve with Lulu & Georgia

One of the most anticipated holidays of the year is upon us…  Just two more days till New Years Eve!!!  This is THE holiday for getting the party started, and I did just that!  Usually when you think of New Years Eve you think of the typical black, gold, silver, white color scheme.  Well, I wanted to try something different this year, and since the tropical trend has been such a continuous favorite, that is right where my mind went.  So this year we decided on a tropical New Years Eve with Lulu & Georgia, and it turned out pretty amazing!

If you missed our New Year Brunch with Lulu & Georgia earlier this week be sure to check it out!  This tropical affair is all about fun colors and the essentials for the perfect celebration.  Keep scrolling to see the gorgeous photos from Heather Kincaid and be sure to head over to Style Me Pretty Living for even more fun!

I always have to start with a gorgeous invite, and who else but my girl Taryn from Twinkle & Toast.  Palm leaves and pink, sort of the perfect combination, am I right?!  She created all of the paper goods for this shoot.  And you’ll see that amazing custom confetti from The Confetti Bar and cutest cocktail stirrers from The Roc Shop through-out this shoot!

Everything used for this shoot from the furniture to the tabletop is from Lulu & Georgia!  So you can literally recreate this yourself!  These tropical palm leaf plates were the perfect addition to the table and really make it pop!  And I fell in love with the super tropical floral arrangement from the Bloom Babes!

It’s New Years Eve so you’ve gotta throw some confetti around!!

One of the most important spots on New Years Eve has gotta be the bar cart!!  The Zelia Bar Cart from Lulu & Georgia is so classic and modern, it will fit perfectly in any home!  Just add some pretty glassware and our favorite sparkly One Hope Champagne bottles!

Let’s Get Bubbly!!!

Our gorgeous models all wearing the cutest outfits from Show Me Your Mumu and hair and makeup by Fiore Beauty.  These cuties are from left to right… Jen Hawkins, Hannah Lord, Janel Benson, Abby Sterling and Hannah Hagler.

Cheers Ladies!!!

How cute are these girls and how great do they look in their outfits?!

And there you have it, a tropical New Years Eve to ring in 2017!!

Cheers and have a safe New Year!!!

New Years Eve Make Up Looks

This week it’s all about New Years Eve and how we can best prepare you for that night!  So today we partnered with Janel from Fiore Beauty who did all the amazing looks at our recent New Years Eve shoots this year including the brunch we featured on Monday here and our party we are featuring tomorrow so stay tuned for that beauty! I’m seriously in love with all of these looks, they are fresh, beautiful and a super class act!!

So here we go… we are starting with Hannah:

We decided to go with a bright pop on the lip and a fun glittery eye. This look will also work with a shimmer on the eye just make sure it’s a soft color so it won’t compete with the lip color. We chose bright pink to highlight the soft blonde in her hair. We also used a soft pink glitter to accent her green eyes. New Year’s Eve makeup doesn’t always have to be dark and smokey. This is a fresh look that still says you’re ready to party!!!!

Next up is Jen:

For the next look Jen was wearing a beautiful green top so we used a cream/liquid silver shadow on her lid and dusted a mint powder over it. We wanted it to match and it looked fab!!! For her lips we used a soft peachy tone. Again using color to brighten instead of dark tones is always a great way to have long lasting selfie ready NYE makeup!!!

Now we have Hannah:

We chose a brown smokey bronze eye and a pale pink lip.  Building depth on the lid with a dark brown shadow stick and then layering bronze shadow on top…it really emphasized her blue eyes, adding just the right amount of drama!

And the lovely Janel herself:

Janel has almond shaped eyes so we did a smokey eye that was darker on the outside corners and more golden on the inside lids to really brighten and accent the eyes.  A peachy nude lip brought everything together to keep it looking fresh.

And here is Abby:

We wanted to give her a holiday, classic red lip.  Mysterious Red Velvet Matte Pencil (Nars) was the perfect red for her skin tone and since it’s matte, minimal upkeep is needed all through the night.  Perfect for that NYE kiss!
These looks are gorgeous, and thank you so much Janel at Fiore Beauty!! We definitely have our picks that we will be sporting in a few days.
Adios 2016, and we can’t wait to see what 2017 brings!!
Love, love, love New Years eve!!
xx Leah

New Years Eve Kid’s Party

It’s all about New Years Eve this week and I couldn’t be more excited!!  There are quite a few grown up ideas on the blog this week, but I thought to myself, what about the little ones?!  Now that I have two kids of my own the actual “going out” thought of New Years seems pretty far off.  But that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with them!  What about a New Year’s Eve kid’s party?!  Can’t be that bad right?!  Well, we threw one with some of our favorite Mamas & Kiddos at Wild Child Party and the result was pretty amazing!!  Check it all out below and be sure to head over to 100LayerCakelet to see more details!

Photos by Megan Welker

This adorable invite is by our talented gal pal Taryn of Twinkle & Toast, and she just gets it right everytime!!  Loving her clever wording and everything about this right here!!   Add some delicious cupcakes from Sweet & Saucy and fun confetti from Wild Child Party and it’s a party…

The balloon install by Wild Child Party is so amazing!!  I love the glitter and the sparkle!  Honey Comb Affair, who did the amazing florals which we will get to soon, just added some greenery and voila!

Now about those florals…  I found an image of roses that looked gold to me and sent it to Christy at Honey Comb Affair and she made my dreams come true!!  I am in love with them…  And I’m not one to love standard roses like this, but these, these are gorgeous!!!  It was the perfect mix of whites, golds, blacks and greenery… I am honestly in awe of this arrangement.

The fun details I got to play with from Wild Child Party made my heart skip a beat!  The disco ball cups, the adorable headbands, and mixture of plates created the perfect mess of a table for our littles.

Loving every single detail!!

Delicious treats from Sweet & Saucy Shop are an essential for any party!  We loved adding these countdown numbers from Wild Child Party too!  3, 2, 1, YUM!!

And of course gotta have some One Hope Champs for the mamas!!!

Now let’s add in our party people and get all the fun started!!  I love each of these mamas and their kiddos, they are all so cute!!  It’s easy to keep kiddos happy when you have secret weapons like balloons & cupcakes though…

First up, where my ladies at?!  Here are Indi, Avery and Everly styled to perfection by Little Style Collective.

Here’s mama Krystin and Smith of Smith and Junie!  All the mamas were styled by our favorite, Prism Boutique.  More of these hot mamas to come!

Here are these cuties sitting around their table saying “Cheers!”  Now it’s time to PARTY!!

Cutie Pie Gram!!!  Love this little guy!

Here is one of my favorite mamas, Annie Vovan, with her kiddos Avery & Max.  She is such a talented and sweet soul, and I can see her spirit in her little ones!

Next mama is my sweet and inspiring friend Dayna Utsler, owner of Prism Boutique!!  Yes, I would kill for this woman’s closet and I’m not embarrassed to say it!  Love her and her little Indi Roux!!

Here’s my girl Julia, owner of Gunn & Swain and San Diego Songbird, a major girl boss who I love dearly!  And little Gram will be a big brother pretty soon, can’t wait to meet baby Elizabeth!!

Another girl boss pal, Lisa from St Eve Jewelry and her sassy little gal, Miss Everly!!  This little girl is so full of personality and beyond adorable…

Last but not least is are Krystin and Smith again!!  This mama is so real, we love her instagram feed – Smith & Junie – it’s basically the thoughts we all have but put down into words… But funnier…

I had so much fun seeing these amazing mamas with their kiddos!  Being a mother is hard and I have so much admiration for each of them.  Plus, they made really cute kids, so that makes me like them more, haha!!

Have the best New Year with your little ones, and cheers to 2017!!!!

New Years Eve at Home with Beijos Events

For New Years Eve we don’t want to always deal with the hustle and bustle and the obvious over priced night out, sometimes we just want a nice night in with the ones we love!  This year, instead of styling a wild party we decided to do something more intimate, a NYE at home!   It’s definitely more low key, but you can make it your own and style it up as much as you like… It is a beautiful cozy night in that anyone can make happen!

Keep reading to see how we created and styled this adorable dinner party, also featured on Inspired By This today!

Photos by Megan Welker
meganwelker-beijosnye-74 Now, you may not need an invite if you’re just doing a cozy night in for two, which we think is amazing, but if you are having a few close friends over an invite is always nice!  We listed the help of the lovely Laura Hooper Calligraphy, who created this simple yet stunning invite.  We love her style of calligraphy, and wait till you see what other goodies we got from her online shop!

meganwelker-beijosnye-64 meganwelker-beijosnye-54 For all of the tabletop we used one of our favorite go to stores, West Elm!  We can never leave that store empty handed and found such amazing items to create this perfect NYE styled look!  We loved the mixture of the black plates with the pinks and golds of the napkins, glassware and flatware.  They also had the most amazing starburst placemats and gold napkin rings that would jazz up any table!!  Really, every detail was taken care of with their awesome inventory.

meganwelker-beijosnye-39 Remember how we said Laura Hooper had great stuff in her online shop?!  Well this drink stirrer is basically our new motto, and new favorite thing ever!

meganwelker-beijosnye-58 She also did custom place cards for us!  And how cute are these little drink tags?!  Gotta love that liquid courage on the dance floor!  Ha! Image-2 The backdrop was pretty easy to create with the help of our gal Meagan from MV Florals!  We had some copper piping lying around that she attached some greenery to, then we hung it to our wall with fishing wire and added a few blooms!  Voila!  Super easy and makes a gorgeous statement.  Meagan didn’t stop there, she created the most beautiful pink center piece for our table, we couldn’t stop saying how stunning it was!  We love using metallics like gold and copper mixed with black and white for New Years, but to brighten this one up and make it a little different we decided to mix in some pretty pinks and greenery… MV Florals really did an amazing job with these gorgeous blooms!!

meganwelker-beijosnye-11 Image-1 meganwelker-beijosnye-50 Image-3 There’s our favorite drink stirrer again that we can’t get enough of!  Ha!

meganwelker-beijosoutfits-29 Now it’s NYE, so we naturally gotta have some cocktails going on!!  Don’t forget about your bar set up, we kept ours simple on a pretty tray from World Market and used all of West Elm & Laura Hooper’s pretties to liven it up!  Oh, and of course some flowers and confetti, everything is better with flowers and confetti!

meganwelker-beijosnye-78 It’s all about the details for us, and these copper Pop! Fizz! Clink! napkins add the perfect touch to any gathering!

meganwelker-beijosnye-84 meganwelker-beijosnye-79 More fun coasters for your guests to use, along with a reminder about what time it is ;)

meganwelker-beijosnye-80 Image-4 meganwelker-beijosnye-19 A nd that’s a wrap!  We hope you all have a lovely New Year and ring in 2016 with the ones you love in style!!

Time to Shine – New Years Eve Style

Can you believe 2015 is coming to an end?!  Went by in a flash!  But we’ve got more important things to worry about, like what we’ll be wearing to ring in the New Year!!!  We wanna start off 2016 in style, so we turned to our friends at Prism Boutique, who has the best of the best in hot dresses for NYE, to style us up!  Together we came up with four fun and flirty little numbers that will be sure to WOW everyone on the big night!!  As a matter of fact, they are doing 25% off all of these dresses right now on their site, so be sure to head on over!!

All Photos by Megan Welker

To start it off we went sparkly!!!  I mean, we like to go sparkly any day, but ESPECIALLY on NYE! This fun dress by Jen’s Pirate Booty is everything we need in a NYE dress – fun, sequins, short, flirty.  Enough said!  We loved pairing it with this cute little Cleobella bag and would be super cute with some booties or even a pair of heels!  It can be done a bit casual or dressed up… Oh, and the deep V in the back, kind of makes it…
Image.jpg meganwelker-beijosoutfits-9 meganwelker-beijosoutfits-8 This For Love and Lemons mini dress seriously has our hearts… First of all, the color is so gorgeous, I mean, why not end 2015 in Marsala, the Pantone color of the year?!?!  Second of all, how fun is all of the detailing with the floral appliqué?!  And we are obsessed with the boho-esque tassel earrings by Vanessa Mooney that added the perfect love to our lobes!

meganwelker-beijosoutfits-34 Image.jpg-1 meganwelker-beijosoutfits-30 meganwelker-beijosoutfits-46 Now this one is quite sexy, and we are perfectly fine with that!  Jen’s Pirate Booty does it again with this little hottie called the Eclipse Mini Dress!  We don’t know what’s the best part… The open back, the mini skirt, or the lace draped all over and the cut out over the girls ;)  If you are wearing this little lady you are bound to get some heads turned, and isn’t that the point?!  Hahaha!!  If you’re single and ready to mingle, get this dress ASAP, you’ll most likely leave end the night with a man on your arm! Image.jpg-3 meganwelker-beijosoutfits-26 Image.jpg-2 This next gorgeous gown is for a dressier affair… Do you have a black tie event this NYE?  Or do you just love getting dressed up?!  We fell head over heels for this unbelievable Free People maxi dress… It’s a little bit unexpected for NYE, and a whole lot boho, so naturally we are all heart eyes over here!!  The beautiful emerald green color is such a wow factor, and adding a bold statement feather necklace by Vanessa Mooney to funk it up a bit and our favorite Cleobella clutch just pulls it all together!

meganwelker-beijosoutfits-55 Image meganwelker-beijosoutfits-49 Image.jpg-5 No matter what you do this NYE, have fun, be safe, and be stylish!!
