Girly Galentine Playdate

You know we couldn’t let a holiday go by without throwing a par-tayyyyyyy!!!  Valentine’s Day deserves lots of love and that’s what this girly Galentine playdate is about!  I gathered up the ultimate girl squad for this shoot and the cuteness enthused.  The best part was that all of these girls had the best time together and it was so fun watching them play!

The adorable clothing line Stella Phoenix is what inspired me to throw this little party.  I saw an image of their amazing collection and knew it would be the perfect attire for Valentine’s Day.  The pieces were even cuter in person, I swear!!  Being a mom to two boys this was my chance to go all out girly and I loved every second of it!

This party is also featured on 100LayerCakelet today!

All photos are by Dulcet Creative

Now are you ready for the ultimate girliest playdate you’ve ever seen??  Because I don’t know if you can handle the cuteness…  Let’s start with the amazing balloon install from Wild Child Party complimented by the beautiful flowers by Of the Flowers and the gorgeous rentals from 6th and Detroit…  Giving me all the Valentine’s feels…

Meghann Miniello created the sweetest invite that would make any heart flutter… I carried on the cute acrylic heart theme to the table as well.  Playing with all of this pink was way too fun!!  We threw floral confetti by The Confetti Bar around and the girls had the best time doing it!

The table had a mix of wooden plates from The Little Market, amazing paper tabletop goods from Wild Child Party, and the pop of acrylic pieces from Meghann Miniello.

I layered bright pink Gunn & Swain blankets and pillows with some white mud cloth Boho Pillows

Now for the cutest girl squad you have ever seen… I seriously want to be them when I grow up!  These girls have more sass and more confidence than most adults I know!  We could all learn from their girl power!

Iris & Zooey

Perry & Edie

Rylie & Lucca

And of course this cutie, Avalon

I think I was just more in awe of how adorable these girls were and how much fun they had together.  Aren’t our girl friendships the best?!  And you can see how evident that is at even this young age!  Makes me so grateful to be a girl and get to share this love with my fellow ladies!!

Cute XOXO balloons from North Star Balloons

Like we said, Stella Phoenix is what really inspired the shoot with their adorable collection, but our buddies at Little Style Collective styled the girls up right!  They threw in some fun sunnies, jewelry, bags and shoes that completed each little gal’s get up.  We also had fun with some ban.do tumblers, party straws and sunnies too!

There’s that amazing acrylic magic from Meghann Miniello – All the Heart Eyes!!

The girls got spoiled with the sweetest cookies from Parchment.  We love everything she creates because she puts so much detail into each delicious cookie!

All I know is these girls were made to party… They had so much fun sitting around acting like grown ups, whilst stuffing their faces, haha!  My kind of girls!!!

So we loved this peacock chair from 6th and Detroit so much, along with the insanely gorgeous floral garland Of the Flowers added to it we dubbed it the Princess Chair!  Each girl got to sit in the chair and do their own Princess pose… I can’t make this stuff up people… Please god, let me talk my husband into having a girl!!!  I was the biggest tomboy ever growing up but I love seeing this stuff!!

Avalon marches to the beat of her own drum!  And since she was the littlest at the shoot, she wanted the littlest chair… And trust me, you don’t want to argue with this one!

Here’s just a bunch more photos because, well, the cuteness…  The adorable princess star wands are a new addition to Gunn & Swain’s site and they’re only $10 a pop!  Trust me, big hit!!

And that’s a wrap!  I’ll seriously be dreaming about living in this pink girly wonderland the rest of the day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!!

xx

Valentine’s Day Dessert + Wine Pairing

Just one more day till it’s Valentine’s Day. If you are like me, I like to start to celebrate long before the actual holiday itself. I shared a yummy grapefruit posset last week, and today it’s getting more decadent. A complete Valentine’s Day for me includes the following: quality time with my husband, a yummy dinner, wine, and dessert. I love any occasion to pair my wine with cheese, food, chocolate; you name it. This year, I wanted to set up a little Valentine’s Day pairing with wine and wait for it…macaroons! Yummy!

The Pairings

Raspberry +Rosé

A Rosé or semi-sweet Riesling pairs deliciously with a raspberry flavored macaroon. The fruity notes in the wines bring out the crisp sweetness of the raspberry. Remember to chill before drinking to help the fruit flavors come out. This one was my favorite!

Chocolate + Pinot Noir

If the macaroon is milk chocolate flavored, pair it with a Pinot Noir or Merlot. If it’s dark or bitter chocolate, try a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Zinfandel. I paired it with a Pinot, and it was delicious. Plus the bottle is a sexy red glitter bottle. Meow!

Vanilla Cream + Chardonnay

With the buttery creaminess of a vanilla flavored macaroon, pair it with a Chardonnay. A full-bodied white with buttery flavors and vanilla, butterscotch and oak notes will compliment the vanilla macaroon very nicely. If you are a vanilla fan, you will love this combination.

Side note, how cute are these One Hope Wine glitter bottles? A great Galentine gift idea too!

This dessert couldn’t be any easier, and it doesn’t have you baking and cooking the whole day away. I got the macaroons at my local Whole Foods Market and turned to my favorite winery, One Hope Wine to help me pair the two together.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

This week I have been gearing up for Valentine’s Day. I try to make it special for my hubby and kiddies. Packaging their little treats in cute boxes and finding the best Valentine’s Day card. See the ones that caught my eye this year here and here. Once, I got my game plan figured out for them; I then wanted to treat myself to a little something-something. One gift for you, then two for me right?

Here are some things that have been catching my eye and some may have found its way into my shopping cart this week…

It’s about time I got these babies. I have been thinking about these  Dilworth sunnies in Opaque Champagne for some time now. You know when you want something, and it’s continually on your mind? These sunnies have been in my head all week ever since Wyeth Eyewear announced their Valentine’s Day special. Did you hear about it? It’s so good! Buy a pair of shades for your Valentine, and get ANY pair of your choice FREE! I know right?!? Here is more info to help you buy:

To get this offer use promo code: VALENTINE at checkout,  and you will receive your e-gift card code for your free pair via email within 24 hours after your initial purchase. Offer valid until 2/14/17.  Due to a limited supply, only one Dilworth in Opaque Champagne is permitted per order.

I was hunting for a new dress for a baby shower I’m hosting in a couple of weeks, and I stumbled upon this SUNDRY embroidered tee that says ‘Just Love.’ I love the monochromatic simplicity of this shirt.

I’m a sucker for a good mug for my tea in the morning, and this pretty pink Victoria Smith Ceramic To Go Tea Mug from Free People is a beaut! I love the travel tea strainer for your loose leaf tea. I’m a huge loose leaf tea lover, and it can sometimes be a process with it. This mug makes it incredibly simple! Perfect Galentine’s Day gift too!  With spring around the corner, I have been wanting a new pastel colored wallet. I’m a clutch + wallet kind of gal vs. the trusty well stocked purse. With those baby days over, I tossed out the big bulky bag and said hello! to the small pretty no fuss clutch. I’m a huge Cleobella clutch fan and I want one in every color and size. I have been really wanting this blush Mexicana Painted Small Wallet for awhile now. I think this day of love might be the perfect time to get it. Hint! Hint!

With the hubby gone during the week, my Tuesday this week will be a bit different then it has in the past. But I’m not completely alone, I have my trusty and faithful wine to hang out with after the kids go to bed. PJ Salvage created the best sweatshirt to help you get cozy with a glass of wine and a movie.

Hot baths are a must, and this Lux Aestiva Celestial Bohéme Crystals from Free People are calling my name! Crafted from a blend of Certified Vegan ingredients including Epsom salt and dried flowers. Also, if you purchase these, 100% of proceeds will benefit Girls Inc.

Girls Inc. — inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, providing more than 140,000 girls across the U.S. and Canada with life-changing experiences and solutions to the unique challenges girls face. The Girls Inc. Experience consists of people, an environment, and programming that, together, empower girls to succeed. Pretty Cool!

That pretty much sums up my favorite Valentine’s Day gifts for myself.(and some obvious hints for someone)

Happy Sunday Friends!

Valentine’s Day Cocktail

I love having a reason to celebrate anything, and Valentine’s Day is one of the best days to celebrate!  For me, celebrating and drinking a cocktail go hand in hand!  I had the idea for this Valentine’s Day cocktail mainly because of the pink color… It’s just so festive!

I have to say, this is not something I’ll be drinking with my husband… He’s more of a straight up whiskey or vodka type of guy.  Although this drink is something I’d love to have with my girlfriends to celebrate Galentine’s Day in a heartbeat!

Photos by Ariane Moshayedi

Celebrating our girl friendships on Valentine’s Day is just as important as celebrating our romantic relationships in my opinion!  The day we celebrate love can’t go without celebrating all kinds of love… Even the love for our ladies!  Although I’m super busy now with my own business and little family and don’t get to see my girlfriends as much as I’d like, those relationships are still extremely important and valuable to me.

Now back to the cocktail!

The best part about this cocktail is how easy it is!  Three ingredients, easy peasy!  You literally just scoop some ice cream or sorbet – in my case I did raspberry.  Then pour some rosé over and add some frozen raspberries, voilá!  You could do this with vanilla ice cream or strawberry – whatever your little heart desires!

Now you can drink these, or it’s probably easier to use a spoon!  They’re really yummy and if you’re a rosé lover like me you’ll really love it!  Plus that pink color just screams Valentine’s Day and has you feeling all kinds of festive!

So if you have a chance, try out this cocktail this weekend or on Tuesday…  It’s time to celebrate Valentine’s Day and this drink is just right for it!

Hope you enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Date Outfits

Valentine’s Day is less than a week away – the day of love!  If you’re like us then you are planning this special day with your special someone.  Are you going out?  Staying in?  Or maybe you have a fun day date planned, either way we have some outfit inspiration for you!  With the help of our friends at Chaser we put together 3 different Valentine’s Day date outfits we are sharing today!

Photos of Abby & Jacquelyn by Meg Perotti – Photos of Leah by Megan Welker

Abby

Starting it off with a night at home at the Guido house…  Abby loves to cook for her hubby and surprise him with a fun new cocktail to come home to.  She went for a relaxed night at home in some Chaser loungewear.  From what she told me, the joggers are the softest things ever and she is living in them!  I will definitely have to pick up a pair for myself!

The rest of Abby’s outfit is kept simple with a white tank and a really cute bra (also by Chaser!) peaking out underneath.  A little bit of cozy and a little bit of sexy… Meow!  I think Mike will love cuddling with her on the couch!!

Jacquelyn

My plan with my hubs is to do a day date this Valentine’s Day.  We aren’t ones to go for the hustle and bustle of a holiday night out so we’re keeping it simple.  I loved this off the shoulder top by Chaser, it’s something I can wear now with denim and through Spring and Summer with some shorts.  Since we’re going casual for Valentine’s Day I wore my trusty checkered Vans, always a good accessory!

I’m also sporting my favorite Brixton hat and Wyeth Sunglasses.  Two staples I can’t live without and add some flair to any outfit.  If I’m being honest my husband doesn’t love me in hats, which is super annoying because I love them!  Haha!  Good thing he’s married to me so I can do whatever I want… Hehe… I also got this little shawl from Chaser that I’ve been wearing a ton, super easy to throw on when it’s a little chilly!
  Leah

Last but not least is fancy pants Leah, who is going all out and doing it right with a Valentine night out!  Doesn’t that sound amazing?  A night out with your husband, just the two of you without any distractions, aka kids?  With three little ones I think Damon and Leah deserve this night out the most of all!  Leah chose a pretty silk dress from Chaser, yes they have silk dresses in their collection pieces, and she is a total babe!

Leah paired this pretty grey silk dress with some burgundy tights, booties and a super cute leather jacket. All the makings for a real cute date night out with the hubs.  I’m sure Damon will be totally fine for paying for the babysitter to go out with this foxy lady!

You can shop all of these looks below!!  Don’t forget to look your best for whatever your Valentine’s Day plans are!
